Reflection

Designing a research dissertation has been a challenging journey for me, as writing and research are not my strongest skills. However, looking back from the first week until now, I realize how much knowledge I have gained about conducting research and writing a dissertation, even though I still feel there is room for improvement. Completing my dissertation draft has been a long journey marked by extensive research, countless hours of writing, and an evolving understanding of my research topic.

The dissertation process has deepened my knowledge in my field, particularly in the area of health communication and the design principles of infographics. I have become more adept at critical analysis, synthesizing information from various sources, and presenting complex ideas clearly and concisely. One of the main challenges was maintaining the quality of writing and focusing on points relevant to the research topic, especially in the literature review and the discussion and findings sections. These were the most difficult parts for me to write, but with guidance from Miss JinChi, I avoided too many digressions while writing the dissertation.

After finishing the dissertation draft, the next step involves thorough revisions based on feedback to ensure the arguments are well-supported and that the overall narrative is coherent and compelling. Finally, I will do a final check and upload it to Turnitin.

Once Project 1, the dissertation draft, was completed, I began designing the book cover and layout. Before starting the design, I had made research and gathered references. After my concept was approved, I started designing the book cover. This process requires a lot of patience as it involves careful attention to spacing and ensuring consistency throughout the design. Overall, the design process has been interesting and rewarding.

And the last project is research article, it just need to review the dissertation that I wrote and summarize it. It is easier than writing a dissertation draft. In conclusion, for the journey I had gain knowledge about writing a dissertation and doing the design research, and designing a book. Finally, I wish that the skills that I learnt from this journey can be use in the future.
